When you're investing in a set of carbon wheels it's easy to overlook the warranty aspect. After all, modern construction is such that overall reliability is a non-issue. But accidents do happen, and they can be costly.

In the unlikely event that you damage your Bontrager carbon wheels within the first two years of ownership, we'll repair or replace them for free.

We'll also continue to offer coverage after two years from the original date of purchase, with steeply discounted rebuild or replacement available to all original owners of Bontrager carbon wheels, regardless of the date of purchase.

This programme applies to Bontrager carbon wheels that come as standard on bikes as well as aftermarket wheel purchases, and comes at no additional cost to the original owner.

What's Covered?

So, essentially you're protected against damage to your wheels for two years from purchase, with free repair or replacement. That's pretty remarkable.

And it's true not just for wheels purchased on their own, but for those included as part of Trek's complete bike builds too.

After the first two years there's still the option for heavily subsidised rebuild or replacement (something that many manufacturers only offer as their default option).

For the first two years

If you damage a Bontrager carbon wheel while riding within the first two years of ownership, they will replace or repair it for free. It's that simple. This coverage applies to Bontrager carbon wheels that come as standard on bikes as well as aftermarket wheel purchases.

After two years

Bontrager provide continued coverage beyond the first two years from the original date of purchase, with steeply discounted rebuild or replacement of a damaged Bontrager carbon wheel.

How will they fix it?

Carbon Care offers two options, and the approach is determined by the wheel and the severity of the damage:

• The repair of a damaged rim (including spokes, decals, nipples and washers where needed) and factory rebuild on the original hubs.

• A complete wheel replacement.

Repair and replacement through the Carbon Care Wheel Programme must be administered by an authorised Trek retailer, such as us here at Bespoke (the repair price does not include delivery to and from the Bontrager Wheel Service Centre, but we can handle that for you if required, at a subsidised shipping cost).
