Originally founded in 1917, SILCA are one of the legendary names in cycling. Famed for their beautifully engineered, serviceable, floor pumps as used for decades by race teams, shops and cyclists across the world.

Family-owned until 2013, they have now been reborn in Indianapolis, USA, steered by a team who are faithful to their 100 year history.

The classic image of a wood-handled, metal bodied floor pump remains central to the brand, but they have branched out into a wider range of precision engineered tools.

SILCA were the first company to put gauges on pumps, the first to produce a true 'high-pressure' frame pump and the first to work with newly-developed plastics after the end of WWII.

We've tested and been impressed by their product range, and are pleased to welcome them to the Bespoke roster.

Each and every SILCA component is designed for beauty, function, strength, durability, and longevity before it is carefully produced by hand to the highest standards. We take great pride in upholding the 100 year history of this brand.

SILCA was, for many years, owned and run by the Sacchi family in Milan. Founder Felice Sacchi was succeeded by his son Giancarlo, and he in turn by his son Claudio, making it the longest continuously-run family business in the cycling industry.

Before Claudio's death from cancer in 2013 he was keen to ensure that the SILCA legacy would be in safe hands. He chose Josh Poertner, formerly technical director at Zipp, to be the new owner.

Josh's enthusiasm for the brand is contagious, and under his stewardship SILCA continue to go from strength to strength. Relocated to the USA, SILCA benefits from being located in Indianapolis, home to the US race car industry and all it's associated technical support.

As a true enthusiast Josh ensures that replacement parts continue to be available for pumps past and present, and his wealth of experience means that this is more than just a name, this is the SILCA we all know and love, now even more secure for the future.
