Parlee were pioneers of the gravel/adventure bike with the Chebacco. As always they started by building a bike for the kind of riding they like to do themselves, in this case exploring the tracks and byways of their local stomping grounds.

With tyre clearance up to 40mm and disc brakes the Chebacco isn't simply a relabelled cyclocross bike - Parlee have designed it from the ground up to perform well on road as well as off. The bottom bracket is a little lower than on a typical cross bike, the geometry more relaxed, and the end result is a bike that shares the stable, precise handling that's found across the Parlee range.

In Parlee's own words: "Gravel grinding, cyclocross racing, tackling a commute in the urban jungle. Now, for the first time, you can do all those things on one bike that delivers remarkable versatility plus the signature Parlee ride quality."

Chebacco Core - The Overview

Carbon Frameset

The full carbon frame is a product of Parlee's many years of expertise with this material. Strong, light and supremely comfortable.

Versatile Geometry

The Chebacco has been designed from the ground up to be a versatile all-rounder. The head tube angle is a little slacker than on a cyclocross bike, and the bottom bracket a little lower - this gives better road manners whilst retaining a nimble, responsive ride on rougher surfaces.

Disc Brakes as Standard

For ultimate stopping power in all weather conditions. The 105 build comes with highly-regarded dual piston TRP Spyre mechanical discs, the other builds are equipped with Shimano hydraulic disc stoppers.

High Quality Components from Leading Brands

There's no corners cut in these specifications. Contact points are from ZIPP, right across the range, along with DT Swiss wheels and Fizik saddles on every build option.

Wide Tyre Clearance

The Chebacco accepts up to 40mm wide tyres, to give maximum versatility. Run it as a road commuter during the week, then swap out the wheels for something wider and go exploring at the weekend.

Modular Rear Dropouts

Easily convert between thru-axle and quick release wheelsets.

Integrated Mudguard Mounts

Provision for easy mudguard mounting is built in, for when you want it, but the integrated design means things look sleek if you're running without them.

Ready to Ride, and Perfectly Fitted

These bike builds are supplied complete and ready to ride - just add your choice of pedals. And as with all our bikes, we'll ensure that you have the perfect fit. Every one of these options comes with a Bespoke Bike Fit, fully credited back against the cost of the bike.

Parlee Chebacco Build Kit Options:

We have a number of "off the peg" Chebacco builds, which offer superb value for money. Of course being Bespoke these aren't your standard build packages. Every bike we sell comes with a bike fit, and using the resulting data we'll change any contact points (saddle, stem, seatpost, bars) as necessary to ensure the perfect fit - all at no extra charge.

If these standard options don't appeal then we also offer the Chebacco LE as a frameset, which we can build into a complete bike to your specs, or simply provide the frameset only for you to build yourself. The LE can also be custom painted to your specs - the core Chebacco featured here comes in one standard colour option, Enzo Red.

The advantage of the core Chebacco is that by keeping the spec and colour options simple we can offer the best value for money - a complete 105-equipped bike, ready to ride, costs less than an "LE" frameset alone. You're getting the same trusty Parlee geometry, the same features and the same stunning versatility.

Whether you're looking to supplement an existing aero road bike with a more endurance-focused model, or simply looking for the ultimate all-rounder for training, commuting, and gravel/adventure, the Chebacco fits the bill.

You don't need three different bikes for cyclocross racing, gravel grinding and winter road riding. You just need one Parlee.

Our Features Editor, Dave Arthur, tested the Chebacco for Road.cc and came away impressed. What better test than the epic Dirty Reiver ride?

For the demands of the Dirty Reiver 200, I found the Parlee the perfect choice and there is nothing that I would have changed. It's more stable and comfortable than a cyclocross bike, with room for big tyres and loads of mud clearance. It's a very impressive bike. It was comfortable, fast in all conditions, the ride compliant and the big tyres grippy and fast rolling. The combination of adjustability, speed and geometry make it a compelling choice for anyone wanting a bike that can tackle a gravel event, do cyclocross or be used on the road.

When Bespoke's head honcho, Barry, needed a deluxe commuter for pot-holed London-Kent roads the Chebacco was a natural choice. Plush ride, a good turn of speed and utter reliability.

This is an LE build, so the paintscheme is different, but this gallery is well worth a look for a closer view of the frame features, which are common to both bikes:

Bespoke customer Greg asked us to build his Chebacco to excel in winter conditions. Hydraulic disc brakes, ultra-precise and reliable Ui2 shifting, and a Quarq power meter to ensure that those winter miles aren't wasted...
