Enigma XCR

Overview

We worked with Martin to build his ultimate single speed bike, heavily retro and with some stunning components.

The frame is full custom, hand made and painted in Sussex by Enigma. Constructed using Columbus XCR stainless tubing, this really is an amazing frame. Similar to Enigma's Esprit Ti model, though with amended dropouts. The logo on the downtube is particularly impressive in its execution.

The carbon fork is matched with debadged ENVE road bars, enhancing the amazing stainless ride feel yet further. Thomson seatpost and stem provide performance though retain a modern clasic feel. Topped off with the latest from Brooks, the carbon C13.

The cranks are classic Dura Ace track cranks and the freewheel is White Industries, the best on the market. Phil Wood hubs are laced to H Plus Son Archetype rims - both excellent. TRP take care of levers and calipers. Lastly, the Velo Orange hammered mudguards keep Martin clean and dry through all weathers.

We took these photos when the bike came bike in for a bit of work, still with some grime from it's century ride earlier in the week.
