Black Altum Disc with Ksyriums

Overview

Disc road bikes are coming thick and fast now along with a decent selection of components for all kinds of disc builds. Alan's Parlee Altum Disc is at the forefront of this new generation of road disc bikes.

The frame features the same engineering, design and geometry as the other two Altum models, but with a modular rear dropout that accepts QR135 or through-axle 142mm wheels. Up front, it has a specially built fork designed for the greater braking forces of disc brakes. It features a 15mm through axle design for added stiffness and steering precision. This works perfectly with the new Mavic Ksyrium Pro Disc wheelset. Effectively the Ksyrium SL redesigned for road discs, the wheelset takes quick release or through axle thanks to Mavic's proven technology that they use on their MTB line. The rims are a little wider, supporting the move towards wider tyres, and come in at just over 1500g without the tyres. We think they also looks pretty amazing.

This no nonsense build uses Ultegra electronic for solid shifting and the dark gun metal styling of this groupset looks great on this build too. Fizik finishing kit, always popular with our fitters and customers alike, and Arione saddle complete the build.

The Altum Disc really is a stunning piece of work. Enjoy your build, Alan!
