Trek Domane Koppenberg build

Overview

The Race Shop Limited Koppenberg frameset is the pro version of the Domane, Trek's cobble crushing Classics machine. With aggressive H1 geometry, the Koppenberg has a shorter wheelbase than a regular Domane for faster, more responsive handling. The fork is also different, with a back-to-front look, giving a further boost to the responsiveness of the ride.

The Iso-Speed decoupler really comes into it's own at speed, delivering a floating feeling over the rough stuff. This is a real world race bike, champing at the bit on all road surfaces.

Barry went for mechanical Dura Ace and loves it's precise shifting, enjoying the immediacy and engagement. The Bontrager Aeolus 3 wheelset is amazing, it's criminal that these wheels don't get the recognition in the UK that they deserve. The mid-depth means they're great for all conditions too, and the ride feel is maximised by the 320tpi R4 tyres, giving a tubular-like ride.

The cockpit is Parlee's new carbon bar and stem. The stem is as impressively beefy as it is light, and has the bolts fastening to the faceplate from the rear at an angle. The bars are 35mm diameter, which Parlee are touting for its improved strength and comfort. We really like the drop on these.

This bike is built to smash the cobbles and looks stunning in its Race Shop livery.
