The Bespoke Part-Exchange Scheme allows you to trade-in your current bike against the purchase of a new bike.

Traditionally, when purchasing a new bike, the most common way to dispose of your old bike was via online auction or website forums. This is rarely a straightforward or stress-free option, with not just the hassle of listing the bike, but handling fees to consider and the worry of dealing with time-wasters and potential fraud.

Many of our customers have told us they don't have the space to store an extra bike, or the time to spend on writing listings and dealing with prospective buyers. Not to mention helping to maintain domestic harmony by disposing of one bike before the arrival of another!
We're pleased to offer this much-requested service, making upgrading to your perfectly-fitted dream bike an easier proposition than ever before.

Bespoke make no profit from the part-exchange process, it's simply another way for us to make your purchase easier and more enjoyable.

WHY PART-EXCHANGE?

We have worked hard to find a simple and safe solution, which combines a fair price with security, confidentiality and ease-of-use.

  • No advertising fees
  • No fees for payment processing
  • No more waiting around for viewers/buyers who may never turn up
  • No worrying about payments clearing
  • No buyers with unrealistic expectations
  • No bombardment with emails and phone calls
  • No need to broadcast your belongings or contact details online
  • No strangers visiting your home to inspect or collect

You will deal direct with us here at Bespoke, as part of your purchase, and benefit from our customary levels of service and attention to detail. We handle the whole process - all you need to do is provide the bike! We then work with carefully selected partners to ensure we can offer you the best possible price.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When talking to us about a new bike purchase, whether in-store, online or by phone, simply mention that you are interested in part-exchanging your current bike.

We'll usually be able to let you know straight away whether it is one that we can accept, and after taking a few details will be able to give you an estimated value within a couple of days.
If the estimate is of interest and you wish to proceed we will need to see the bike "in person".

After placing a deposit on your new bike purchase, simply drop your current bike in to any of our stores (please call us in advance so we know when to expect you). Alternatively, if that's not convenient we can arrange secure collection from central London addresses via Addison Lee at a very reasonable cost.

Our partners will then inspect the bike to confirm the fine details of condition and specification, and we'll be able to offer you a final, firm quotation (typically within 2-3 working days, as we ensure we find the best offer for you). If you then choose to accept this offer the money will usually be in your account within 24 hours of acceptance.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT KIND OF BIKES DO YOU TAKE IN PART-EXCHANGE?

Our PX partners are interested in good quality road, triathlon, cyclocross and track bikes. They may also be able to take selected high-end mountain bikes. They can only accept bikes with an original selling price of at least £1200. Bikes must be less than 7 years old.

What do you need in order to give me a quote?

For an initial estimate we'd reccomend using the Cycle Exchange online quotation website - https://www.cycleexchange.co.uk/pages/sell-exchange.

If you select Part Exchange as the payment method, this will be paid directly to us at Bespoke Cycling and then credited against your new bike purchase.

Do I need to bring my bike into the store?

Not for an initial estimate as a quote is generated remotely using a description of specification, condition and pictures of your bike.

All quotes are indicative pending a final sign off and review by Cycle Exchange in their workshop. The more accurate you can be at this stage with the specification and condition, the more likely the final agreed price matches or is very close to the quoted price.

Can you collect my bike?

Yes - if you're happy to accept your PX quote but not local to us or it's not convenient to drop off at our store, we work closely with the team at www.forkliftbike.com and can arrange collect from your home address (additional fee).

How long does it take to get a quote?

You will recieve a quote within 48 hours. However if you'd like a quicker estimate, please get in touch with us as Bespoke Cycling and we can obtain you a quote within 60 mins (during normal business hours).

Do you buy bikes outright?

No, we only take bikes in part-exchange against the purchase of a new bike from Bespoke.

Do Bespoke take a percentage of the part-exchange value?

Absolutely not! We pass the full value of the part-exchange on to you - the only benefit to us is in keeping our customers happy and of course the resulting new bike sales.

Do I need to clean and/or service my bike before trade-in?

The cleaner your bike is, the easier it is for us to inspect the condition. So we do recommend that it is reasonably clean to ensure you receive the best price possible. Similarly, a well maintained and serviced bike will command a higher price. So although a fresh service is not essential, if you've not had it serviced recently we'd recommend booking it in for a quick trip through our workshop first to make sure everything is working well.
A well maintained and cared for bike will always command a higher price, so please do bring us copies of any service history you might have (of course if you've been bringing it to us for service we already know it's been well looked after!).

Are you interested in accessories too?

We do not take shoes, clothing, bags, lights, etc in part-exchange. Good quality tri-bars, carbon bottle cages, etc will be taken into consideration when generating your quote. Power meters are also not priced into the quote. Frames, high-quality wheelsets and individual groupsets can be considered for part-exchange.

Can I trade-in more than one bike at a time?

Yes, but the total value of your trade-in must be less than that of your purchase.
